This is a full-time contracted position with a full-benefit package.
Educationrequired:
· HighSchool Diploma or GED.
Experience:
· Two(2) years of experience in public health or health related occupation where the skills, knowledge and other abilities can be demonstrated.
· Education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Special Requirements:
· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. You must complete required training courses once you are employed. This will require overnight travel.
· Must be able to use computers efficiently.
Scope of Work: The Community Health Specialist will work within the harm reduction program to engage and support clients in accessing comprehensive, client-centered services. This position will focus on building trusting relationships and facilitating connections to essential health and social services. Responsibilities include connecting individuals experiencing substance use disorder, homelessness, and other complex public health challenges. This role will also assist clients in accessing a wide range of resources, including behavioral health services, food, clothing, housing, transportation, employment opportunities, and recovery support services. All services will be delivered in a non-coercive and stigma-free environment that respects client autonomy and dignity.
Compensation and hours:
Pay will be based on experience.
Full-time37.5 hours per week. Normal hours will be 8:00-4:00 but there will be late clinics as well as travel for training. Two paid 15-minute breaks andone 30-minute non-paid lunch.
