Educationrequired:
· HighSchool Diploma or GED.
Experience:
· Two(2) years of experience in public health or health related occupation where theskills, knowledge and other abilities can be demonstrated.
· Educationmay substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
SpecialRequirements:
· Musthave and maintain a valid driver’s license. You must complete required training courses once you are employed. Thiswill require overnight travel.
· Mustbe able to use computers efficiently.
Scopeof Work: TheCommunity Health Specialist will work within the harm reduction program toengage and support clients in accessing comprehensive, client-centeredservices. This position will focus onbuilding trusting relationships and facilitating connections to essentialhealth and social services. This position will also work within our Exchangeprogram. Responsibilities include connecting individuals experiencing substanceuse disorder, homelessness, and other complex public health challenges. This role will also assist clients inaccessing a wide range of resources, including behavioral health services,food, clothing, housing, transportation, employment opportunities, and recoverysupport services. All services will bedelivered in a non-coercive and stigma-free environment that respects clientautonomy and dignity.
Compensationand hours:
Paywill be based on experience.
Full-time37.5 hours per week. Normal hours willbe 8:00-4:00 but there will be late clinics as well as travel fortraining. Two paid 15-minute breaks andone 30-minute non-paid lunch.
